Default 13.5@115 lol how embarassing

Went to the local drag strip and ran an amazing 13.5@115 with a 2.5 60 ft.
Pretty bad I know, I'm able to get my gti to a 2.1 60 ft.
The car weighed in at 2950 with under a quarter tank of gas and 3090 with me in it.
I have large spacers with boxster s 17's though which I believe add a fair amount of heft.
I realize these cars aren't great for drag racing, especially with a long first gear and pronounced turbo lag, but figured I'd have some fun with it anyways.
The two times I got a decent launch my fuel pressure regulator line was "somehow" disconnected so fuel pressure didn't raise with boost causing me to lean out so I had to shut down. Still not sure how that happened, but that's another thread of it's own that would be entitled "inbred ******* tried to sabotage my car"

115mph even in our cars is good for 12's. Get that 60ft down and make sure your planted well at 2nd and you should be fine. I was at sea level at the time but, I ran a 14.1 stock and a 13.6 with bolt ons and stock turbo. These cars can go down the track. You just can't care about breaking stuff.

Yeah but word on the streets is you also had Tibetan monkeys...
The trap should be good for mid 12's with maybe a 2.0 60 ft but I guess only time will tell. The cold weather didn't help either, if I shifted into third too hard I still spun.
I'm sure thus is a case of needing more seat time

Nice trap speed - Big HP. I've seen low 12's / high 11's with that trap speed and a good launch - not with our cars though !

Yep that's pretty much what my lightly modded Turbo S runs without hammering on it! If you wanna run faster I think LSD 951 tranny go for $2000.

Draging a 944 turbo without an LSD... not fun... as much fun as going to a road course track on snow tires...!

Yea, these cars are notorius for high traps with slow et's. The 60ft is always the killer.

13.5 was the mfg claim for 1/4 with a stock S but with 99mph. So you are 16mph over that trap which with a dead on launch should bring mid/high 12's.

So you have a 12 sec car with a 13 sec driver.

Yeah - I've always wondered how they got that 5.5 0-60 time for a stock turbo S. Best I could ever get on a "G-tech" type meter was 6.0 on my 2 turbos.... They must have slipped that clutch perfectly.

Well in my defense my friend, PO was driving and I already have a 944 N/A with a busted R&P, so 13 sec car it shall remain!

LOL.

Now if you run a 60-100 you would be in much better company of cars. That is where the 951 really shines.

Oh yeah, I opened a can of whop *** on a 4x4 ( it's NV, sigh) it was trying to climb up my *** around a pot holed filled corner! I was like WTF! Dropped the hammer looked back and he was gone!

Only had the car a couple of days then, I was like "now that's what I'am talking about!"

Lol I hope to lower the eta a good bit this coming Friday. I was very easy on the clutch and rolled out slowly. My two launches that were decent ended up with me having to let off. Were I to get a 2.0 60 ft mid 12's should be possible for sure.

I got you beat by a good bit..14's with a higher mph..

If you want to get really adventurous you could install a MSD 2 step and get it to light off off the line.

I am looking forward to this year. This will be the first time I have had a decent clutch in it along with higher boost and the 2 step.

I actually figured a 2 step would help a lot. The biggest disadvantage is the long first gear and lack of power off boost. You have to be really mean to the clutch or initiate just the right amount of wheelspin to pedal out of the hole to get a decent 60 ft it seems. I've only done a handful of runs in this car and I'm much more used to fwd cars. Then again it doesn't help that I have the original shocks on the car...

I always dreamed of setting up lower rpm limit on the high beam stalk but i guess if you have to steer a little you would let it go so a little button on the shifter is probably the way to go ..
