951 S big brake upgrade?

I have a turbo S, and I need new brakes. Either I have mine rebuilt, get new pads and rotors, or buy a kit for all four corners. What are my options performance wise? I would like to upgrade the front and rear with something newer and better. I know there is the big red kit that's widely available, but what about the 993 turbo S Yellow brakes front and rear? Or Cayenne front boxster rear combo of sorts? I do want the calipers in yellow or black, no red. Help, searching brings up some very confusing results.

er as far as i know the the "S" already has the big reds ..
and you can there for easily up grade the front rotors and just get long bolts and spacers as the calipers are radial mount but you must get the correct offset rotors ...
also as you have pretty high spec brakes look at all the easy stuff first . being good pads good fluid and ducting or 968 cooling scoops .
don't bother with the rears ..
generally yellow indicated ceramic rotors winch were drug money ..
gee i just stripped my black calipers to make them red ...

Yeah I stripped my black to make them yellow. The 993 turbo S were Yellow, and were not ceramic. I figure they would bolt on seeing as how the big reds bolt on, but never heard of anyone doing this. I have 968 ducting, and run Pagid blacks now. Want more lol..... Plus its time for a rebuild of calipers, and replacement of pads and rotors. So why not upgrade?

I suppose what you are looking for is to get rid of old fashioned Brembos and change to newer style Monoblock calipers.
Rear end is quite easy one to do. For example 996 calipers will fit with adapters. I use GT3 rear Monoblocks with GT3 disk. Only difficulty is to have handbrake operational with that disk (with all newer disks). We have developed a special handbrakeshoe adapter, which moves handbrakeshoes outwards to fit perfectly with GT3 disk.
951S front brake conversions are more tricky, because both original and newer calipers have radial attachment points. It's rather challenging to fabricate suitable adapter. Easiest way to do it is to get Cayenne axial mount style calipers, fabricate adapters and choose a proper floting style disk and fabricate billet aluminum hat which helps align disk & caliper.

Turbo S has 'Medium Blacks' or off the 928S4. If yours is an MO30 equipped car it is a bit of a PITA to upgrade to anything but the Big Reds or Big Blacks. Really, unless you are tracking a very high hp car you won't need anything more than the Big Whatevers. Just do this which is a direct bolt on. If you want a different colour just change the colour either yourself or professionally.

It's virtually all in the pad height or swept area. Interestingly I don't think Porsche ever went for a similarly shaped and sized pad again. They all went wider and shorter. So I'm not saying the Big's are the be all and end all. I would like some Monoblocks too. The Cayenne calipers await on the shelves.
In truth, for most people the 'Medium Blacks' are probably fine. Do a colour change for the bling aspect sure.

Turbo S brakes are very large and very effective. More than enough for the street and very good at the track. Plus they don't look to bad either.
I would stay with them.

Yes you can paint the calipers at home with some high temp paint specifically designed for them. Remember to clean the area well and mask/tape off anything you don't want the paint to get on. You can move the calipers out of the way before painting them as to not get on the rotors but can be done all bolted up. They do look pretty good once painted red.

Rotors: Cross-drilled, radially-vented carbon fibre-reinforced silicon carbide composite discs.
Calipers: Lightweight aluminium alloy monobloc, Fronts have eight titanium pistons, rear have six.
Other special Brake Features: Anti-lock braking system (ABS) on the handbrake (e-brake), the rear wing acts as an airbrake, snapping to a 55-degree angle in 0.4 seconds once brakes are applied, providing an additional 0.68 G (4.9 m/s²) of deceleration (equivalent to the stopping power of an ordinary hatchback). Bugatti claims the Veyron will brake from 400 km/h (250 mph) to a standstill in less than 10 seconds.

Guess they didn't take his advise when creating the Veyron's brakes:
