Was the KLR. Interesting, I tried to bypass it as instructed, but it didn't. Maybe I got my wires crossed (no pun intended, honest), and got the mirror image instead of the correct one.

No matter, I got it making spark with the known good KLR and DME. Both are bad (!). Now to tackle my fuel problem.......but at least now, I have ignition! Actually got it to try to fire by putting gas in one of the cylinders.

Thanks again all for all of the help. The cheap oscilloscope is awesome! The LED idea was also quite helpful. Now if only I could pick up a DME and a KLR for an S that cheap, I'd be golden.

Glad you found the problem. You can use any DME or KLR, don't limit your search to DME/KLR from the S. The software is what matters.

The MY88 and later use the 28-pin DME, earlier ones are 24-pin.

So I finally got around to pulling the fuel pump this morning. Swapped the one from the good car, and she fired right up. Been idling for about 20 minutes, and I still have a noisy lifter, but otherwise, things look good.

Thanks again for all of the help.
