Default Plethora of fuel rail questions

Sprung a leak in my fuel rail, so I am in the, do I replace it with stock or do I do a billet one mode. Here are my questions:

1) What exactly does a fuel dampener do? Never mind, did a search now I know
2) Who makes the remote fuel regulators for our cars?
3) Who besides LR and CEP make fuel rails for 944s?
4) What is the biggest adavntage of a billet over stock, other than eye appeal?

Ummmm…dampen the pulses in the fuel line due to the injectors opening and closing.

2) Who makes the remote fuel regulators for our cars?
Since it’s a remote mount you can use any manufactures regulator.

3) Who besides LR and CEP make fuel rails for 944s?
LR, CEP, Speedforce…..(I hear a can of worms opening!)

4) What is the biggest adavntage of a billet over stock, other than eye appeal?
As you have noticed – the stock ones leak…the only reason the aftermarket ones are ‘billet’ (or extruded) is that its easier to make that way.

4) billet is a solid piece of metal milled and drilled to work as a rail. no brazing like stock rail, so no cracking.

I've seen plenty of people say it will only crack if your not careful enough dong the bolts but pretty reasonable that people use the billet rail even if they think the steel rail is ok if looked after as the stakes are so high ...

The way i see it is that swapping to a billet fuel rail is not better "higher stake" as they are mounted by two bolts only . Some people have reported the LR fuelrails getting loose. So why should i change to a bad design risking a fire? O and yes you have the CEP rails but they dont look as good and you have to use an ajustable FPR there...
