So you say that you "hand pick" your cars, but at the same time you don't claim to be an expert... in fact, you can't tell from obvious signs (like rust) that a car obviously hasn't been driven for 3-6 months.
So what does that mean? If you you don't really have much of a clue what you are looking at, what does "hand picked" mean? You say you don't sell junk? How would you even know what you're selling? You simply believe what the PO tells you?
I could make a fortune selling barge poles around here...

Lart,
Based on the website, that was a nice car when it was built and its not that old a build. Great find. I am very envious, I am sure you got it for a fraction of what it cost to build. I wish I were closer to you.

Great find. I have been trying to find an S2 driveline for the longest time, and you get a complete car for less than some people want for a motor. I now have an S2 LSD tranny (which are like rocking horse @#%%$ to find), I just need to find a motor and all the ancillaries.
Great work. Again very envious.

We have very big telescopes down here. It's how we communicate to our neighbours due to the large distances involved.

Not an "expert" myself but rust is relative my friend and I only see surface rust on the back rotors. For the real nasty rust northern Ohio is where it's at.
Otherwise the pettily things I immediately pick out are the CV boot clamp hanging on the axel, crude under hood wiring, probably for the extra driving lights, and exposed fuse blocks.

Hey lart, you are probably a bit "thin-skinned" for this business, but you could try other lines of work. For example, how about the "novelty condom" biz? The one made out of tinfoil you're wearing in your avatar seems to fit you very nicely...

That was a great blog on the car. I love the part
Quote:
"Well I have been getting a few questions why I choose this car for this race.
Well , for a race like this a car need to be fast, reliable, have great fuel mileage, good handling and easy to drive.
As I wanted to run a Porsche and being on a budget a 944 is the Perfect choice. However a regular 944 is not fast enough, a Turbo not reliable enough. Well the choice is the 944S2, it has a 3.0 liter 4-cylinder engine, 215 Horsepower, great torque curve. Great brakes , Good fuel mileage, big gas tank, well balanced and easy to drive. In fact these S2's dominated Professional Showroom Stock Endurance racing in the early 1990's.
Then starting to figure out classification realize that a moderately prepared car fits right ino the E1 Class in the NASA Endurance series.

That just about sums up why S2's are a great clubrace car. According to the blog it was built and raced December 2008, so its had very little use.
