I have been looking for an S2 for a racecar for a long time. If I had been close, I might have considered it. S2's make great track cars. As quick as a Turbo without the headaches.

I would think so. It's just a pile of probably mostly worn-out parts. Which is why I wouldn't buy second hand parts from a race car (unless I knew it's history and owner quite well).

Lol, that's exactly what I thought on my way to pick the car up but, I had a big surprise when i inspected the suspension upgrades. I might be wrong but I will let you guys see the pictures and judge for yourselves tomorrow, we have a storm in So California so I couldn't take the pictures today.

Anyway it seems to me that the coilovers, sways bars, camber plates and strut brace were purchased recently within 3-6 months.
I don't have as much experience as you probably do, I only have been dealing with 944's since 1988 and have part these cars for over 7 years, but I respect your cocodrile dundee point of view on this, since you can see the parts from the kangaroo land with your telescopic sight.

Yours truly

lart

LOL, judging by the look of the rust on that rotor I'd say the cars hasn't been _driven_ in 3-6 months.

Which means all those parts installed in last 3-6 months have 0 miles on them. What a find! What an expert! I keep forgetting how smart Californians are, now that I'm down here stuck with all these dumb Aussies.

Barge pole, extra length, please...

Funny I never claimed to be an expert, the only one making evaluations here it's, you the self made guru known as the shimless aussy wannabe right

I was just going to reuse the existing shims, but I notice each shim has three dimples to line up with holes on the back of the Pagid pads: no doubt, to help keep them in place. Only problem is, the Mintex pads don't have the three matching holes, so the shims would not sit flat against the backs of the Mintex pad.

What to do? Go shimless? Try to flatten the shims so they'll sit flat? Order some new shims that will fit the Mintex? Order some new pads that either come with shims or will accept the ones I've got?
