I hope it is really cheap. We had a Mustang dyno and did not make us money. It was used as a tuning tool for us, but definitely not a wise investment from a making $$ standpoint, granted it was a very expensive dyno as well. We use to charge $100 for 2-3 runs with AFR, and were the only 4wd dyno in the KC metro area. The other places that had 2wd dynojets were charging 45 for 2-3 pulls, so it was really hard to compete with. Make sure you have a hude disclaimer form for people to sign as well.
BTW if you a 4wd mustang dyno with less than 150hours wheel time, I know where there is one for sale, lol.

I looked at a chassis dyno for quite a while – If you can do a car an hour (average) at $75 per session it does not make much sense unless you can get a ‘low dollar’ guy to operate it….and do you want a low dollar guy operating your $80k Mustang dyno….
It starts to make sense if you use it to bring in work to your shop, but it is tough to make a profit on one.
If I got a screaming good deal on one I would put it in and just use it for shop projects and let friends play with it…

If the controller is not too complicated and the unit is somewhat potable i think people would line to pay $1200 to have it for a month . so a trailer dyno or hub dynos ..
and if its permanent installed i think dyno days with BBQ are awsome ..

keep in mind - some consumers will want the age and last time your dyno was calibrated/serviced.
Also consider if there is a breakdown can you afford to repair the dyno - to make $$ you will likely spend a fair bit of effort getting customers, that will all be for not if you can't afford to fix your dyno. May want to calculate a single failure into your operating costs if you actually plan to make money over the long haul.

A friend and I bought a Dynojet 248C for $15k. It works well. We don't advertise as it's mainly for our own use but people hear about it through the grapevine and ask to come use it. We've charged $80 an hour. The one thing to check is the knurling on the drums. If the knurling is worn I am told you may get some slippage with higher HP cars. I believe it costs $5k to get them reknurled not including shipping which isn't going to be cheap either.
