Default Is there supposed to be a gasket between the header and crossover?

Just reinstalled my refreshed head and there seems to be a persistent exhaust leak from the passenger side. The headgasket kit came with 2 new steel rings for the crossover, and I don't remember removing the old ones. Is there supposed to be another gasket or just the rings and are they reusable?

Yep, those annoying and expensive seal rings. One time use. LR makes copper ones..

Its possible that the old rings are still in their grooves on the crossover flange. If so, the new rings won't seal. Pop the flange and dig out the old rings, replace with new, all good.

When using our copper gaskets, we recommend leaving the old rings in place to fill up
the groove. You could get our copper gaskets, slip them in there, and tighten things up
without removing the cross over, which would be necessary for digging out the old rings.

The factory crush rings work fine if they're new and installed correctly (not sure how you could mess it up, unless, of course, you left the old ones in). I've run the stock crush rings on many motors for a long time without any issues. It sucks to have to go back in there. That's no fun.

The Lindsey flat copper gasket sounds like a good solution for this problem. Gives you the option to pull the flange bolts, back off the header nuts, hook out the second set of rings you put in there and slide the copper gasket in place. This would be a lot less effort!!

well I went ahead and removed the B&B headers and put in new crush rings. Leaks gone. I have to say the new exhaust hardware kit I bought here (Saturn keyed studs, etc) were a real lifesaver!

Glad you solved your problem. About the saturn studs when I call them the guy in the parts department he said that they had no such part. I got mine fron Napa, and it worked fine.
