Wondering if anyone knows if a 924 roof skin will fit on a 944. Looking at replacing my roof to go to a non-sunroof but not sure of fitment. Any help is appreciated.

depends how much of the skin you are trying to transplant. remember the 924 has the bump at the top of the windshield like an early 944, a late 944/951 has a smooth transition from glass to roof

i thought only roofs after 85.5 would fit? Brian, do a search on the 944/924/951 general forum as that is where I got my answer from.

In the 944 world, yes. But the 924S, although it's from '87 and '88, has the early body style (early interior, too).

But, as Spencer said, that only matters if you're replacing the entire skin - the part that meets the windshield (and the rain gutters) are different.

But, if you're just cutting out the middle piece to weld into the sunroof hole, an early car's roof will work just fine.
