Default Which Scraper?

I have an 88 951 which sees eight DE events a year. It is getting a Lindsay baffel. HP is perhaps 300 at the flywheel. I plan to run 245 X 16 RA1's front & rear. I see a metal scraper for $84 or teflon coated for $200. Is the teflon worth the extra $? I would think the high HP cars would want it, but would it be a waste of $ for me?
Thanks,
Norm

I think your $$ would be better spent on a better oil cooler. Crank scrappers can be a bit of a PITA to fit and sort if you don't have much experience installing them.

oil management is best attacked with a multi prong approach
so an oil cooler an oil temp gauge perhaps one of those acusump accumulators
The Teflon does seem expensive at over double but its not an easy decision as you will invest up to 6 hrs installing it

Thanks for the input. I read Rennlist alot more than I post. You guys have already convinced me I need an oil temp. gauge, which I have (not yet installed). A Kiss oil cooler is also part of the project. A scraper has been highly recommended by a friend with a 951 and I have alot of faith in his advice. It sounds like there would be alot of cutting and grinding, which could easily scratch off some of the $$ teflon. At this point my best guess it that the teflon is not worth it. Any other input is welcome.
Thanks,
Norm

I would actually get the Teflon over the regular one. It adjusts itself on the inside, so the only grinding you have to worry about is making it clear the oil pan which varies from car to car. I think IJ has also changed designs to make it easier to install. With the teflon one, you get it installed and the the crank rubs away the teflon till it fits.

That would be a question for IJ.

You could also get a full windage tray, that would work I would think?

He has different options for knife edge cranks and different tods too.
I have a full windage tray with dual teflon scrapers on order for my 3.0l 16v turbo.
I agree on the multi angle attack so to speak. I will be running windage tray, scrapers, oil pan baffel, large oil cooler and braced oil pickup.

I have a IJ Teflon scraper and it took a few hours to fit. a lot of the fitting was to make it clear the oil pan. I was pleased with it overall. Also get the aluminum pan rail covers.
