Plastic/Fiberglass Intake manifolds?

Actually, my thought behind this was not really for performance gains directly, but for the equal length runners, better plenum, etc.
Bascially molding the LR or Scott Gomez, etc. intakes, but out of plastic in a mass run instead of hand building and welding each intake like they do now.
Just take the LR intake but make it out of plastic; cheaper, better, faster.
And I'm not trying to block out LR or any other vendor. If they want to take a run at this, by all means.

not hard a few of us have done it. best to take and inch or 2 of runner as well for grafting have 4 short stumps from a 16v S inlet manifold i was considering a composite manifold as I found it difficult to weld the magnesium the stumps the S inlet is made from..

Sounds like we are making progress.
So you are attaching 4 equal length tubes from the stock cut flange "nubs" and those to a bigger tube/cylinder/plenum. Is that in the ball park? Just trying to keep it simple.

I fail to realize the need for this, other than under hood bling factor!
A tuned intake on a forced induction car is like a belly button ring on a beautiful woman... it looks neat, but serves very little purpose... going to this length for tuning an N/A car... again it is bling factor, not performance... the factory intake is actually decent, the effort making the intake would be MUCH beter spent on other areas to make beter gains, but that is just my oppinion, and we all know about oppinions! If you are racing, and running in a class that will permit use of a custom intake, you have already taken care of everything else....
IF it is just bling factor, just wrap the stock intake with CF, and be done with it...
FWIW, when my car is done, I doubt I will take many (if any) under hood pictures, nor do I think I will raise my hood at GTGs anymore... as I will only be letting them know not to bother, and it is SOOOO much more rewarding to see the look on their face!

Exactly what I am talking about replicating. Thanks for the pics.
And as V2 stated, just trying to replicate what is out there, only much cheaper; equal length runners and better plenum as the unequal length runners and current plenum are not the most effecient design.
