I have over 200k miles on mine and have driven it fairly hard since I've owned it (I think I bought it around 160k). I bought it with 249whp, it now has a hundred more than that. They aren't rock solid like an old American motor with 50+ years of development and simple systems, but they definitely aren't poor motors! Just take care of it, keep an eye on the oil, an eye on the gauges, open ears, and drive it "correctly." With a large amount of heavy-weight oil, a turbocharger, and significant cooling, one must wait to drop the hammer until water and oil are warmed up.

YMMV (hopefully for the better, in fact)

You need to drive it more.
+1 - that's part of the reason that mine's for sale. I am worried about not driving it alot. I have only put 6K miles on it this year and would dearly like to put more on it.

FSAEracer03 -- that was an inciteful, thoughtful, lucid and intelligent post... seriously.

I am thinking that you have proven that these cars deserve more respect than we maybe even give-em.

run your favorite synthetic oil, tons of oil changes, proper startup, and shutdown, run it at least every several days and 3-7 pounds of boost - lol
