The google says that's a 924 turbo, early 944 starter

That is a starter for a early car. Will work on late n/a cars.

Can't answer your question, but have one to ask... Are the electical studs secure or loose? Seems like every starter I come across has wobbly connector studs, so curious if a PCNA rebuild it the same...

They are secure.

All 944's have the part 959.613.137.00 (AC compressor safety switch).
931 G31 trans have 917 LSD parts in them
