Thats the way many clutches have died...the valve/hose will leak right down in to the bell housing and screw up the clutch.
good thing is the car only leaks when water is pumping; sitting still (off) there are no puddles, so it should be fine the next week or so until i can fix it.
I use phosphate free zyrex (gold colored). Sold at every napa across the country, and I've seen it at a few Auto Zones as well. Mixed 50/50 with distilled water, and a bottle of water wetter.
