What is the plan with the rest of the parts?

High temperature paint for all of the brackets/mounts/other parts. So far, a layer of primer followed by 3 layers of paint and 2 coats of clear have produced some VERY nice looking parts. I wanted to powdercoat the major engine components to help protect them a bit better than just paint. It's been a real process to bring my "Mach 5" back from the dead. Here's a pic taken an hour or so after the engine fire:

Lindsey Racing fuel rail mount failed. Cold fuel on hot engine = instant Hindenburg.

That is what I do not like about the Lindsey rail, only two mounts. That sucks that you replaced the rail to prevent the number one cause of 944 engine fires and you still have a fire.

They should pull that part from their catalog.

My thoughts exactly. I've heard there are aftermarket additional mounts for the LR rails that cure this problem. I had my shop in San Antonio install the rail EXACTLY as the crappy instructions from LR said, and Mike Lindsey's response to me when I told him that was, "Did they use Loctite Red?" I didn't want to get into an argument, and I wasn't going to sue, so I left it. But did the instructions SAY to use Loctite Red? Nope. Nowhere. So needless to say, I don't use/condone LR products, and they lost a customer with their lack of support and customer service.

that is terrible...

do the rails fail on the stock cars or just the hoses?

Both have habits of failing. Fuel lines due to age, and fuel rails due to vibration (bad/solid motor mounts, off-time balance shafts)

Why would one use red on a small bolt you have to remove to service the engine. And I wouldn't want to apply heat next to the fuel rail to soften up the loctite. There are four mount aftermarket rails for the 944 that are top quality

Lindsey makes some nice parts, this just isn't one of them IMO.

Typically I will change the fuel rail mounting to studs (loctited) with lock nuts - for the stock rails or Lindsey rails or whatever other rails. I think that the 6mm bolt into aluminum manifold was not a good idea - especially on a part that will be removed and reinstalled repeatedly.

I have seen a lot of very worn threads on fuel rail mounts…..

This thread makes me wanna powder coat badly.

Lots of people in the DMV on here seems like...so this place that powder coated is around Lorton right?

Our main branch is right off terminal rd. I work in Sterling though

Any ideas peopl for the intake manifold? Iv been thinking about removing it and getting it shined up...maybe a port n polish...whats ur take on that?
