Default Which side is which? (AXLES)

I just got the pair I bought off ebay.... How do I tell which side is which?

They are left/right and inboard/outboard exchangeable (but the little clips under the bolts have a specific location - the smaller clips are on the trans side, the larger clips are on the hub side.)

Yeah, you can often times even flip the axel around to even out wear and tear.

You'd have to opem up one of the CV joints to determine which side it was installed on. Probably not worth the effort. If you DID know which side it came from, you'd install it on the opposite side in your car.

Distribute the wear to the opposite side of the CV to get a little bit more life out of each joint. It'd probably be a good idea to inspect them tho to see the current state of the components.

Are the joints new?
