at the donut shop! Good way to start the day. Actually, the guy was really nice. He could have just driven off, but he came in and asked "who's driving the Porsh turbo?" Anyway, I now have a nice big black gouge/scuff across the back bumper and an excuse to get the whole car painted.

It's white, so any mark on it is pretty conspicuous. I just put freshly painted 968 mirrors on that make the rest of the car look bad so it's probably time for a respray anyway!

Trim on the side will pop back out if you lay it on a baking sheet and put em in the oven at 250 for 10 minutes or so... I had the same thing happen..2 replacement struts and some baking and she's as good as new...

Wouldn't you know it, this was the first time I have EVER been there when there were no cops. I get the donuts every week for the office and they've always been there!

alpine white will take a real licking and bounce back with some good cleaner wax and a clay bar. There is a LOT of paint on there so even if you get a huge scuff you can clay bar most of it off and use the cleaner wax to get a fresh layer of white paint.
Haven't heard about the end piece oven trick but they are about $40 from dc auto.

It's been said that since alpine white is a fairly common color, including VW, that WalMart sells a pretty good touch up paint.
Reportedly, the paint in rattle cans is actually good, but the spray method sux. An air brush from a model hobby shop, however, might do an excellent job spraying that bumper with the white paint from WalMart.
Also, try the oven trick for the end caps.
See how much of the black crap from the other car will come off with WD40 or paint thinner.

Actually, the paint on the whole car was pretty bad. The clear was pretty much gone. I dropped it off at Heflin's for a complete paint job. The guy that hit me is paying just the amount to fix the bumper and I'm paying the rest. I'll post pics when I get it back.
