Default FREE PAYAL

I found this out through a purchase of an engine I bought a couple of weeks ago

I have tested this a number of times
by selecting the personal tab neither sender nor recipient is charged a fee

I thought I would share this as I have tested it out a number of times

Unless you are sending as a gift, the sender chooses if the sender or the recipient is charged the fee even if you select "personal". The only way around it is to choose gift and no one is charged the fee.

not true
by clicking "other" works as well and keeps the conscience clear
try it
with a friend
there are businesses relying on this
our club pays almost 10k in fees every year
as registrar I am going to pass the savings to my drivers
kind of a cash or credit price schedule

One caveat. I use this with trusted sources, or small amounts. If you don't know the seller, you lose any repurcussion if he fails to send you the goods. But between friends and trusted sources, it is great!

I have tried to use the resolution process afforded to the user by Paypal
it was a futile effort
I see for at least myself absolutely no reliance on their system
its old school for old guys
do business only with those you trust

it worked for me...had to use it once. i bought a flat screen monitor from a guy off fleabay...couple weeks goes by and I don't have it. I start sending emails and he finally replies with excuses asking me to wait another few days...rinse and repeat. I finally figure out he's trying to hold me off until the 30 day expiration passes so I can't submit with PayPal to resolve. Once I submitted, they sent him emails asking him to resolve it and a day later I got a refund in my account for the full amount. No hassle at all. I was thankful I used it and will continue to do so for eBay purchases.

As mentioned though, you forfeit those rights if you choose to use the personal options. So, use only with friends or people you really trust.

I've tried to use the PayPal resolution process in the past, and had no luck. I payed a guy in CA a few hundred bucks for an LSD (for a jap car) and never received it. I may have submitted the complaint after 30 days, though.

I would too for ebay purchases
30 days go by very quickly and it doesnt cost you anything - well as far as you know

but between friends swapping parts - the 3% is cost prohibitive.

I have bought a lot of stuff off RListers - great parts I needed for my builds - but I had to add 3% most times to the asking price if I didnt want to mess with sending a check and waiting for it to clear.

here is a solution as an alternative.

In no way am I suggesting anything regarding circumventing the normal process you use - I just wanted to share an alternative.

I think you now have 45 days to file a claim.
