can dino oil be mixed w/ synthetic safely
i have some thick dino oil and some thin syn what is the safe %combo on these
50/50 60/40 my winter oil change is coming up and i want to see if it works
i know oh not another oil ques. but i think its legit

You can mix dino oil with synthetic. Not really a problem in most cases. But I think in extenuating circumstances there could be an issue. Not that I'd know to identify one. But generally there shouldn't be a problem.
Now, mixing weights might be more of an issue. 5/40 Dino and 5/40 Syn isn't a problem like 0/30 and 40/90. The oils may want to behave differently, but I can't say for sure. This is the issue I'd be worried with.

Compatible, but not recommended. If you must mix, use the same brand and series oil, but you're always better off using the correct weight oil.
Not good to switch back and forth between brands/series at every oil change either.
