1986 951 price feeler
Hello all. Well I had some problems with the MAF setup on the car right after I got it and decided I was going to do a vitesse kit, but issues with my truck have kept me from having the money to put into the Porsche. In light of that I want to try to get an idea of the value of the car to see if I can sell it as is currently or If I am going to part most of it out. Currently the car needs injectors and MAF to run. Here is the mod list:
155,xxx miles
recent maintenance within last 10K miles
Front engine seals, oil pan gasket (slow leak, maybe .5 quart per 5000 miles), rod bearings, widefire headgasket, waterpump, thermostat, timing and balance shaft belts and rollers, ignition wires, cap and rotor and plugs, strut bearings, Zimmerman rotors front and rear, metal master pads front and rear, set of control arms with new bushings and balljoints, new outer tierods and new half shafts in the rear.
Lindsey Racing sport turbo #10 hotside,
Lindsey Racing dual port wastegate
adjustable FPR, 55# injectors,
Weltmeister chips,
Greddy Profec B electronic boost controller,
Forge DV,
front mounted RX7 oil cooler,
AC delete with alt. relocating bracket,
manual steering rack with new tie rods,
968 rear caster mounts,
front struts (yellow koni's with adjustable perches),
rear shocks (yellow koni's),
set of control arms with new bushings and balljoints,
26.8mm front sway bar, adjustable rear drop links and
new rear sway bar bushings.
cup clutch kit w 930 disc (1k miles)
throw out bearing,
rear main seal,
rebuilt clutch fork
resurfaced flywheel.
new starter (200miles)
FPR 3bar (200Miles)
BBS style ARE wheels with gold centers and polished lips with Hankook K106 tires with less then 6k miles on them.
Here are some pics of the car, sorry for the size, its all I currently have. In its current state is it worth $4,000?? Thanks for the help.

I would say it's worth a bit more as is..that being said, there are a lot of 944's for sale out there right now.... Do you have an after market MAF now? Sounds like you're right there, just need to spend some time with it.
Good luck, tuff decision

You should easily be able to get 4K if it is as described, however MOST buyers will want to see it running rather than taking the word of the seller that it runs... Used injectors are cheap enough, and there are full MAF setups FS on here right now cheaply... should be able to wrap it up under $1000...

It had a Lindsey system on it when I got it, but I sold that to put towards the vitesse stuff, however that money had to get put into my diesel seeing how that is my daily driver and work rig.

I understand that someone would want it running but right now that's not an option as there is no room in the budget for another grand to be spent. My lift pump just went out on my truck and it's gonna cost about that much to get it back on the road and that is my daily transportation so that takes precedence over the Porsche. I guess someone would have to trust me that there is no other problems with the car. I could contact the guy I bought it from and he can verify the condition of the engine if that is what would keep someone from jumping on the deal.

I have an old Huntley Racing /ARC-2 MAF kit I'd sell for $100 - It's not the best or modern technology ( I replaced it with a Vitesse MAF - best money I ever spent on the car) but the car will run/drive which should help get more $$ when selling
