There would be no wheel speed signal sent to the ABS control unit unless you had ABS hubs and sensors.

Based on a old document I have, it shows that #7 is GND and #2 is Power. Does this match your findings.

I lost the frequency module about 5 years ago, just found it with the instructions. Just in time to install.
Yes your right John,
i have modified the diagram to show power and earth
Power is pin 2
Earth is pin 7

Seems like there are many opinions, but few actual six speed boxes in high powered 951's.

I like the six speed box for my car. You still have 60mph in second and the ratios are fine. The 968TS cars had a taller 5th and 6th gear, which are available. Garrity installed my 89 951 trans cooler to the six speed. The six speed is a stronger unit. I'm also going to install a 968 bell housing to allow for 4 hour clutch jobs.

Should have just built a 968TS............

I like the six speed for my car. One of the fastest 951's at PIR for years had a six speed with an original 3.0 Turbo S motor in his 86 951 race car.

Here is a 968 transmission diagram link for those interested. My tire size give the car about a 180mph top speed. The five speed is taller, but you can get gears for the six speed to cure top speed issues.

I just had a 5 speed lsd done by Kevin G, but have not installed it yet. I considered getting a 6 speed but was hoping for more brave pioneers to try it first and report in -- so your reactions are very appreciated. Planning to do the TT at the same time. In the meantime, can you tell me more about the 4 hour clutch jobs?

The 968's have a "window" of sorts on the bellhousing which enables clutch assy removal without removing the whole back half of the car.

It's awesome, and a wonder Porsche didn't think of it sooner...

I like the 6-spd on the 951. I switched from the 951S transaxle to the 6-spd, I loved it. I had a short shift kit on the 5-spd, which made it very nice to shoft. I'm yet to find a short shifter for the 6-spf. The 6-spd seems a bit sloppy to shift. Did anyone else experience this?

I initially had the torsen LSD on the 6-spd. I did not like the way the rear end squirmed under braking. I switched to a Porsche Motorsports clutch based LSD, but haven't tried it yet.

Glad it was corrected. The blue frequency converter is pricey!

GeorgeD, did you note the change to the original diagram?

It certainly is John,

Is it a direct swap for the 951 bellhousing?

I actually find the 6-spd a lot better to shift than the 5, it was all upgrade for me.. I got the relay at a wrecker, even in Australia it was not expensive, and common, The ABS unit I sourced in the US

I wonder how different the 6 speed is to the 5 speed with the S2 r&p? Obviously the 6 speed will have a higher top speed but up to that point I am curious how this would differ.

I also find the 6 speed very precise when shifting, it almost feels like I'm shifting a gated transmission. Oner thing I did notice is that the stock shifter with shift rod has a great deal of shifter travel from reverse to 6th, I installed a billet shifter with Momo **** to fix this. Has any one heard of a short shift (transmission end) for a 6 speed?

By the way, I love this transmission so much, it really transformed my car.

No. Or, well, it's a direct swap on the engine block side but you need the 968 torque tube for it to fit. The 968 bell housing is longer to make room for the clutch swap.
