Finally got to do a deep clean on the car...
Spent some time over the last few weeks giving the Porsche a good deep cleaning, and finally got around to taking a few pics last night.
I followed my usual "full detail" procedure, which was taught to me by my buddy Tom (who is pretty **** about his cars, and generally gets the car looking really good for such a basic procedure.)
Basically, full wash with Dawn dish soap. Then hit it with a basic claybar (which came out FILTHY), then went over it with some Zymol HD Cleanse to get the deep stuff that the claybar missed. Topped it off with some Rejex paint sealant. For 23+ year old paint, I think it turned out pretty nice. Reflections look like a mirror and do a nice job of refecting color, detail, etc.
Interior was scrubbed using Woolite Pet Stain carpet cleaner (I tried a bunch, this stuff seemed to work the best.) Then after that, hit it twice with Tom's steam cleaner. Carpet still isn't perfect, but it's a LOT cleaner than it was, and is soft to the touch. Leather was cleaned and conditioned with Lexol products, and the plastic/rubber parts were cleaned and conditioned with 303 Aerospace's "convertible top, rubber, and vinyl cleaner" and "UV protectant."
I swear it looks like a different car. Amazing what just a basic scrubbing/cleaning can do!

I need to do a long-needed session on my car! Waiting to get the bumpers fixed (yes both of them!) before I do anything intense. Once I don't rely on it as a daily driver, and can keep it in the garage most of the time I'll be keeping mine in minty-mint condition always!

I thought about doing new carpet. The carpeting in the car was pretty gross when I brought it home. The area in front of the rear seats was actually a dark grey it was so filthy. I figured it was worth the ~$20 in cleaning products to try to clean it myself first before I invested in new carpeting. If I ever do decide to redo the carpeting, I'm swapping out the tan for black, which means I'll have to pull ALL the carpet and the bottom half of the door cards. Not too excited about tackling that project, so what I've got will do since it cleaned up pretty nicely.

My friend and I redid the carpet on his FC RX7. Fitment wasn't perfect, but after the seats and trim were laid back in, it looked great! Went from a Blue to a black interior and I liked the finished product.

it is easier than it looks to fit new carpet into the 944 floorpan. like i said i just used a big stonkin roll of generic auto pile in beige but it wasnt hard to work with.
the hardest part of the job is getting the old stuff out; youll want to get rid of the old insulation as it is rotted nasty and smelly. also, good luck getting the carpet that goes over the hump under the dash, it was downright impossible for me so i just cut it off and left some original stuff back there lol
