Thanks Chris, that's very helpful.

I've always wondered: when one takes a flywheel in to get resurfaced, do they balance it too or do they simply shave it and hand it back (typically speaking)?

If not specificed they will not balance it. Also - the 951 flywheel is a little different than 'typical' flywheels - they need to resurface it right out to the lip - most flywheel do not have a lip that locates the pressureplete. If they do not have a stone that is in good shape with a sharp edge they won't do a good job.
