help please - replacing wiper assembly
I have the wiper assembly unbolted but for the life of me cannot twist in into a position for it to come out. Looks like the blower motor needs to be loosened. How is the easiest way to get the room to slide the old assembly out and slide in the new one?
Thanks

Actually K-bit, the better way to go is to leave the blower motor in one piece and remove the whole unit from the upper firewall. Just taking the cover off did not clear the wiper motor bracket in my car. The whole unit removal only requires six bolts and some unhooking of electrical and vacuum leads. The unit is sealed to the firewall with a silicone-like bead, but that is easily scraped clean and can be re-beaded with new sealer for re-install. This is a bit of a PITA job, took me the better part of a day to R&R wiper motor using the existing wiper brackets. Errr....wasn't actually the "better" part of the day, but it wasn't that bad.

Just finished it up -
1. took off the top cover and could not fight it out
2. took out the 6 bolts to remove the whole unit and discovered the sealant so went back to plan 1.
3. found out the blower motor will just pop out - this gave me enough room to get the old assembly out and the new one in.
4. now just waiting for Debbe to get home with the doublefaced tape to put the plastic "tent - cover" that goes between the windshield and the firewall back on.
With the help here it was not too bad a job.
Thanks,
Jack
