Autothority MAF question
Ok so I have an autothority MAF question on the car, and I ordered Lindsey Racing chips for it. The car has a super 75 turbo and 55lb injectors.
Well I got everything hooked up, and it runs rough.
I may be a dumb dumb, but I think its probably because I have an autothority MAF with Lindsey chips. Is this the problem, or could it be something else, perhaps I have the wiring incorrect?

I recall some threads referencing 'clocking' of the MAF. May want to try and rotate the MAF pipe and see if it smooths out.
Otherwise, you should replace the APE MAF and get a newer, more advanced setup if you're really serious about it.

well as long as you gave them the correct calibration for the MAF it should work.
It could be that your maf is faulty, it needs clocking, or just a plain old crappy tune.

I seem to remember reading a few years back when Russell came out with his chips that he could not do them for an Autothority maf. I could be wrong, but we both no that never happens. You might try a search though.

Yup, thats what i've been told. In fact i've been told they just don't plain work with that MAF.

Twas a 28 pin, I have a 24 pin DME. I didnt even think about that when I bought the kit. I tried hanging the chip off the slot but the car wouldnt start on the 28 pin chips.
It would start on the 24 pin DME chip, and it starts and runs better on the 24 pin Lindsey MAF chip, but it runs rough and detonates.

The car that it is on is sold already, I wasnt looking to make big power so the autothority MAF was a great solution.
I talked to some people and they said letting the chip hang off would work sometimes, but it depends on the type of chip.

A while ago Russell posted a little program that would convert 24 pin chips <--> 28 pin chips. It might be on his site too (I think it used to be). You'd need to find someone who can read the 28 pin chip and burn the 24 pin chip for you, and use Russell's program to convert between them. Just a thought...

There is a way to convert 28-24 pin. Get with Russell at MAXTune and see what he can do. He should be able to read the 28 pin chip and flash it to a 24 pin chip for you. Either way the Autothourity maf is the better of the 2 units. And will be much cheaper to fix the chip issue than buy a new maf.
