Watching on-lookers encouraging a newbie 944 owner to turbo their na is a bit like watching a would-be suicide on a ledge with crowd of on-lookers chanting "jump! jump! jump!" below... grisly but somehow compelling...

when i'm done the only factory turbo parts left on my car will be the left rear defuser and the busted boost gauge in the dash .I paid heaps for a rough 944 turbo they are rare here gee i wish i had started with a 2.7..
I think i think the conclusion is if you are a do it your selfer DO IT you get a kick out of the task and it is worthwhile if not forget it sell up and start again

You really think somebody would swap a 2.7 n/a for a 2.5 turbo? I didn't know the 2.7 was THAT valuable...
Your engine is a perfect base engine for somebody. Already have S2 type of block and a bolt-on-type 8V head. Then just drop in a S2 crank, some Andial turbo pistons and proper con rods and you have a 3.0Liter. Quite many 951 owners have some extra engines stored and most likely you can trade your 2,7L n/a directly to 2,5L complete turbo engine (most likely project engine though).
I am in the middle of building a 3.0L 951 engine and most likely it will cost +15K€ when i do most of the work by myself.
