To the OP. I believe you are looking at those aftermarket 16x8 Fuch clones, correct? They are different than the 86 Turbo Fuchs that are made to clear the larger 951 caliper. Make sure they clear first or plan on the correct spacers.

The Fuchs clones will not clear the 951 calipers unless you run a rather large spacer that shoves the tire past the fender lip.

Ok since the OP got his questioned answered, let's go OT

Well my local track (2.2 mile road coarse 12 turns, 2 higher speed straights) is known to be particularly hard on brakes and tires. I make a fair bit more power than stock with VR stage3/wasted spark setup and supporting mods at 15psi. Suspension setup is modest - koni m030 w 350# front 29MM rear, with 968 m030 front sway, welt 30mm rear sways, corner balanced, track alignment, etc, etc.

This track has only one straight of any real distance to allow brake cooling and it is a drag race to about 110-120mph then very hard on the brakes into a tight right hander.

Once tires up to temp, I can run 5-6 laps 95% before brake overheating begins to becomes noticeable. At first onset (a corner or two), it almost seems imagined as maybe I just braked a bit late or carried just a bit too much speed in and results in just a bit offline. Next corner is final notice with notable brake fade, next corner it's all over, fluid boils and complete brake loss. That is how fast heat builds and unless really in tune to the car can surprise you..... hence it happened to me twice. I now pickup on the first ever so slight warnings..... and get off track.

Running ATE fluid, fresh and bled night before. All new/excellent condition parts in good working order.

Final plan is testing this setup with proper ducting and race pads and maybe brake pad shims, then it will be time to decide. thoughts?

Do you run stock '86 calipers (with smaller pistons than other 87-88 turbo cars) ?

Bridges- I had similar problems that were all corrected by pads and ducting. I did both at the same time so I cannot tell you which did the trick but I feel it was a combination of both. I went to the Hawk Blues but have heard the pagid pads also are excellent. The Pad debate goes on forever. The ducting has some options. I know the fog light replacement duct is very common. I went with the 968 2 piece deflectors similar to the cup cars had. They need a special bracket to be attached. I have a set of front suspension out of the car if you would like a pic.... MY 2cs

Cheers, Mike
