Ouch - exactly why I don't do WG - too many "blue bushes"

Good luck with the transfer Dan. That must have been a bit of a bang.

Wonder if there would be any rennlist voulenteers for a 'rebuild a race car' day at my house? (beers and food provided)

For me WGI is the best track I have ever run at. It has everything to make it a challenge. My accident was ultimately my fault as I spun in the bus stop and crossed the track to end up faccing the wrog way. The first 2 cars missed but unfortunately the third did not. I saw 4 other spins in the same place and all resulted in clean returns to the track. I got unlucky (I feel more for the guy who hit me) SO not the tracks fault

Looks like a good solution for both of you. Wish I was closer, but 19 hours is a bit long for a free beer!

No opinion on the options. Just wanted to say I'm glad you're okay and sorry about the car. Good luck either way.

update is option 4. I think myself and Brian have a good solution for both of us (I also have offers available for 2 other ex race cars with blown engines if this does not work out) I am currently in MExico so hopefully I will have the car in a week or so and then let the rebuild begin. I will do a lot of the work myself including cage install interior, fire supression etc just like I did on the old car however will no doubt need help installing the engine and transmission so will look around for a garage to help me do that

How much $$$ would you estimate for a engine and transmission install???

This is just a guess... but I'd think it would be 15-20 hours. Kinda like 2 clutch jobs.
