Default Flutter with stock DV valve

I just upgraded from stock afm and box to a stage 2 maf setup and now my stock dv makes a flutter noise. I am not running anymore boost. The more boost when I let off the louder the noise.

Is this normal or should I be looking for an upgrade.

Here is a video of me letting off at 10psi in 3rd.

Do you have the stock diaphragm DV? I have an upgraded metal-diaphragm DV I could sell you if you'd like.

No, it should not flutter like that.

Yep, it is the stock diaphragm one. It is in good working condition, no tears or stretching in the diaphragm. It did not make this noise before the maf install.

And yes I may be interested in a metal one, I assume it is the ebay unit? Let me know how much you want for it.

I'm not sure what you mean about the updated unit, but I think we're talking about the same thing:

Updated Bypass Valve

Paragon wants $60, so how's $45 shipped sound? I have two units; both are in new condition but out of their box. I have tested both units, and they work properly.

The one you have linked is the one I am talking about and that is what I have currently on the car. Bought it from paragon 3 or 4 months ago. It appears to be in complete working condition only makes a flutter now with the maf setup.

The stock airbox and snorkel muffle a lot of intake sound. When you switch to a MAF with cone filter, you generally hear a lot more intake noise, including bypass venting.

1+, lots of new interesting noises are created with a MAF and the cone filter. The 993 is better then stock, but you can find better DVs. I found out the stock units after years of use don't like boosts above 16psi. If you upgrade, do a search and purchase what fits your requirements.

Alrighty... well the vavle is working properly, it just makes the sound that my turbo ka24 does when I had the bov spring too tight. Plus this dv valve is easily 2 times louder then the bov on the KA is. I can hear it over the music in my car with all the windows up. I had always heard that with the maf you will hear more noise but I got the impression that it was a subtle noise not something louder then a trumpeted bov.

I just thought that I would of heard something before the maf setup if it was always making the noise. I guess I have nothing to worry about. Thanks
