Default Slick VIR Lap

Every now and then we get a video that truly rocks.

http://vimeo.com/4365975

This lap of VIR in a West WX10 is one of them. Its a 1:48 lap, and that's running over 100# heavier than SCCA CSR spec. Entering the uphill esses at 140 is impressive, and brushing the brakes for a 120 entry to South Bend is insane!
The WX10 is the 'spec' car for IMSA Lites L2 series. I want one.

+1 on the G-meter being awesome ....

Its amazing to see the dot go right to the edge of the circle and never go over. Braking and turning were all perfectly coordinated.

The driver is Eric V, the owner of West Race Cars. He sent me his video & data to put together with TrackVision. He's all set up to do it himself now that his custom data display is the way he wants it. That said, I'm really tempted to drive it sometime this season.

+1 on the G-meter being awesome ....
That GCircle is calibrated at 2G full scale. When you see the vector on the outer ring, that's 2 Gs!! You are very observant about his control. He holds the G force through the transistions very nicely.

Very cool. Is this some sort of motorcycle engineed car like the Radical? Seems very similar.

Its actually a stock Kawasaki ZX10R engine, validated and sealed according to IMSA Lites 2 specs. I think the rated HP is 170 or so. This is a very sophisticated tunnel floor chassis - around 1000# of downforce for a 1000# scale weight.

Dayuummm...

Tony, that looks like it would be fun except for our heads sticking out so far. Talk about aero drag... ;-)

Tell Bob you've found the only thing capable of exiting the climbing Ss @ 140.
