Distributor cap and rotor, how often are you guys replacing?
Just curious what you guys are experiencing with distributor caps and rotors, how often do you guys replace them or find the need to replace them? The last couple days i have been getting some hesitation during spool up (between 5-10psi) which smooths out by full boost. I know there are no leaks or anything and the TPS has not given me any issues. I checked the cap and rotor and both are pretty worn out, i have a new set on the way. I checked the records and they were replaced about 4 years ago (22k miles) by the previous owner.
BTW, i am running a stock ignition basically.. no crazy coil or MSD ignition box. Just Magnecore wires.
I know these cars are very temperamental with spark plugs and typically i replace them every 4k miles (basically every oil change.. NGK-R coppers), so does 20k seem the norm? for these items? Makes me want to go wasted spark.. .

I have a new cap and rotor I'll part with. Went to a Link ECU with wasted spark. Rotor and cap have about 5 minutes of running time on them.

My maintenance interval is pretty scientific...when I get the hesitation you described at the onset of boost I change the cap & rotor. That seems to be about every 18 months, which in my case (3rd car) is about 7500 miles or so.
