Default Seems like a low idle- what is normal cold and warm? thoughts?

Fired up the 951 (or had my wife since I am out of town) for some exercise and the car seems to be idleing low and causing a low level vibration. Since I am not with the car but though it might be a good brainstorming moment what would cause this? The car has not been driven more than 50 miles in 6 months but gets started and drivin around every week for a little. (office only 5 miles away)

what is a normal cold and warm idle? I do not remember on the 951. Any thoughts or snide remarks welcome- (not really, it's just a saying)

Thanks in advance- Mike

Probably varies a bit from car to car, mod to mod, location to location. I sit up around 900-1000rpm but not stock. Not much help sorry. I assume the car is stock.....otherwise it would get driven a lot more!

Stock idle is supposed to be 840 rpm +/- 40 rpm. I set mine using the proceedure in Clark's and using my tach in the car ( not the most precise for idle speed) to approx. 900 rpm http://www.clarks-garage.com/. I do have some valve seal wear and when I start it from cold it idles lower and rougher, but clears in about 30-60 seconds. Idle comes up to the 900 rpm mark in a couple of minutes. There is also a whole set-up proceedure on the Linsey racing site as well for setting up your idle http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/IDLE944T.html . Perhaps some of the vacuum lines to the idle control valve have loosened off somewhat. It's easy to get to under the intake (NOT!).

Thanks guys- I almost forgot about clarks site. She will be driven, I have been away working since the holidays so all the stable is in hibernation. The car is 100% stock and probally will remain so. I have other tweaked P-cars and was getting ready to make this one a full racer but I am having second thoughts because of her condition- being too nice to cut up.

the links will be helpful- thanks, Mike

ps- 333pg333- I thought down under the drivers side was left, your avitar is right....? MAybe I never noticed before since I have not been there.
