Exhaust pipe touching sway bar- why?

I have a Dansk cat back, and it made a terrible rattle from 3-4Krpm, noise went away pretty much, but recently I heard it a little, and realized the center bracket was missing. Sourced one, and installed, as low as possible (still needed to use a jack to get the holes to line up), and the pipe pretty much touches the rear sway bar. The reason it had quit rattling was the weld on the back mount had broken and it was hanging lower. Glad I caught it, as I had my headers replaced last summer.
I don't see much adjustment in the cat back piece. Both brackets are as low as possible. I read through the archives and didn't see much on this, seems this is an unusual problem. It's just a 2.5" Dansk stock exhaust (I think it's 2.5), I have read in the archives of people using up to 4". Seems like 2.5 would have lots of room. Got the car last summer and the pipe was new then. Rattled when I bought it.
Why in the world is mine fitting so bad?

Nah, mine did the same thing, give it a small relief right where it is touching, rattle and knocking when cold will go away, my PO swapped to M030 t-bars, and the old muffler I took off had a small relief right at the sway bar, NEW dansk needed the same...

I wondered that, but figured Dansk would have it down, and I must be missing something. If that is the case, wonder if a muffler shop could bend some clearance in without too much trouble?

The dansk pipes stay well clear of the trans, shouldn't be an issue there, they just tuck in so tight to the bottom that it hits the sway SOMETIMES, my 951 only does it until the exhaust heats up, then it is clear...

I'll remove it this weekend and give it a whack. Might try drilling out the mounting bracket holes a little to mount it a tad lower. Looks like there is some kind of joint compound in the joint to the cat. Any preference for a good joint compound to use here? Never fooled too much with exhausts, except for coat hangers :-)
