You don't need to pull them all. You might try removing those that don't put up a fight to see if that helps. On most cars, some come out without much fuss, while others are very tight.

I was suggesting you give them a try and see if they will come out without forcing them enough to break them. I agree it would be a bummer if one broke (but not as bad as a cracked oil pan from lifting the whole car by the pan).

This week I also had to remove the headers (Turbo S). The header in the middle was going off without much problems (I have to say that one of the studs already came off when losening it). But the other header was not going off.

I did removed the studs without a problem en the header came off

I'm not sure why people say there are header"s". There are two sets of primaries, that are called the header when referred to as a whole. Header being a set of primaries on the exhaust side of the motor, meeting at a common collector. The collector, meeting at the crossover pipe. Primary, being a pipe extending off of the head and leading to the collector. This is just how I understand it. It confuses me when poeple talk about the inner and outer headers. Maybe that is right... Eh.

I got lucky and my studs loosened themselves when I tryed to remove the nuts.

And there is no definitive right/wrong for a 951 exhaust manifold. There ARE two pieces, so could be called headers, and or header. Now if you go with SFR stage II, you have a header. No plural lol.

I hate my Honda friends that call their exhaust manifold "headers". Theyre one piece even from the factory!

no need to unbolt motor, just use a very large bar to pry against the motor from the top to get that extra mm clearance. I have done this at least 5 times and it has always worked.

I ended up hacksawing off the protuding 1/4" from the last stud at the rear of the block.
Seemed to work when fitting my 1 piece LR headers, hopefully will also work for taking them off again this weekend !
