I bought my '91 S2 for 8k. It had a recent Spec Stage II clutch, 77k miles, water pump and belts, all stock except for a B&B catback. I put roughly 5-6k into it in about a years time. $2500 of that can be accounted to the 18's and Saratoga top.
I bought my '87 951 a year later for 10k. It's black on black, was 95% stock (had 993 cup II's and Authority Chips). It had 99k miles, a flawless body, with no known accident history or repaints. The interior was a 9/10 (minor seat problems and slight dash cracks). It came with a cargo cover, lots of records, all under trays including the back one under the motor. Ran great and drove straight. Also has factory LSD. It really doesn't need much like suspension work (will do anyways). Needed belts though. No leaks of anything. Newer turbo water pump. Clutch is likely stock or replaced very early in its life. All in all a strong car. Not a smoking deal, but I didnt get hurt. Being that I was after a black '87+ 951 with LSD and all stock...I was willing to spend a few more dollars.
I haven't updated my excel file in a while, but I should have about 15-16k total into
it by august or September. And closer to 20k this time next year...

What if I bought a 10k dollar car and put 7k in it in two years
Yet my last 951 I bought for 1k (YEP 1k smackers) and all it ever needed in its two years was a cork gasket on the back of the valve cover and a cv joint. it had 200k miles, and was running 19 pounds of boost. That car wast the BEST![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)
