Default Track wheels Refinishing: Not too shabby for rattle can

My weekend project - to clean up and refinish my set of 996/boxster Twist track wheels. So I headed down to my local AutoZone and picked up a few cans of the Dupli-Color Wheel paint in bronze. yep...bronze. Why you ask? Cuz I like it, that's why.

So I scrubbed them with Simple Green, then sanded them till I had no fingerprints left. Cleaned them again with lacquer thinner and stated painting. And the results (from 5' away) look pretty darn good if I say so myself.

2 coats of bronze on the outside with a coat of black on the inner portion of the rim. I then clear coated the lot with a good couple of coats.

Not too shabby...

Not too shabby...
Color me inspired, I just ordered $180 or so worth of WURTH paint from Pelican(4 cans silver, 4 cans clear, 2 cans black), should be enough to do my Twists, my Audi's Wheels, and maybe enough to get My N/A wheels refinished as well (they say 1 can will do 2 wheels..so 6 cans should cover my 3 cars wort that need refinished+clear...)... N/A phonies are going to be a spare set as the Turbo phonies will go on the N/A as soon as the Twists are done and re-shoed...

Hmmmmmmmm........ I like that and recently decided its my 17" boxster twists that is getting new tires. I wonder how it would look on red. Was it a PITA to paint around the porsche crest?
