Default Turbo oil feed line.

I have a question about the oil feed line. I just got done putting on a TO4B and because the oil drain on the turbo has a square hole, I needed an adapter. The adapter raised the height of the turbo about 1 centimeter. The problem I am having now is that the oil feed line doesn't line up exactly. The oil line still bolts up fine without cross threading but, the braided metal part of the oil feed line has to bend to fit. It didn't break and it seems pretty flexible. I am just concerned that over time with heat and oil pressure, this could cause the feed line to fail.

Has anyone ever installed one of these turbos with an adapter and used the stock oil feed line with no issues? Let me know. Thanks.

I would suggest making your own line or buying the Lindsey kit with a filter. Bending or stressing the stock line too much may cause the plastic inside it to crack, which is bad, means blown turbo.

You're probably right.

If I go with the Lindsey oil line and filter, which should I get? Lindsey gives you an option of 360 degree bearing or twin BB. I have a single BB.

Did you loosen the oil line bolt on the engine and try and adjust the fit? I have installed two adapters on turbos with no issues.

Yes, I adjusted it on the engine side too. It's not like the oil line is kinked, it just has a bend. The line is snug on both the turbo and the balance shaft cover now. I am just concerned that it could cause the line to break with the heat and oil pressure.

I have had the adapter on for many years with no leaks and lots of track days.

Good, I didn't want to spend another $150 right now.

Brian,
When using the adapters, have you ever ran into trouble with clearance between the turbo and the intake?

No, they both fit without an issue but the turbo water tube had to be changed.
