Actually the six speed bolts right up......but for future clutch changes the 968 bellhousing makes things much easier.....what do you want for the bellhousing?
I'll incorporate it into my next clutch change, but don't need it for hopefully some time.
Thanks,
George

You also need the shorter 968 torque tube in order to run the bell housing. You may also want to check the compatibility of the flywheel also. I think the 968 flywheel is larger.. this is why you need to use the S2 flywheel in a 968 engine swap with the original bell housing.

GUYS,
I have the 968 box, axles, and everything else currently in my 89 951 3.0. I didn't know the tourque tube had to be replaced when utilizing the 3.0 bellhousing, but it's no big dea. My current clutch should last a while. I'm running the original TQ tube, and it has some miles on it, and should be rebuilt or replaced when this clutch goes.
I'm just trying to get future parts on the cheap. I've sold PLENTY of awesome stuff from my 951's for a song.....most for free.
Aluminum stores well in my side yard. Just like to have what I may need on hand.
Regards,
George

I am fairly certain you need to use the 968 flywheel also as its unique to the bellhousing, which as far as i know alot of work to retrofit due to the difference in crank triggers and use of only one reference sensor for the 16v engines. Probably better off getting a custom flywheel made for the 8v.
Im not 100% sure.. but pretty sure, someone correct me if im wrong.

Looking for feedback. I'll call Garrity tomorrow or Monday to know the actual details. Many 968 cars got rid of the dual mass flywheel and has no issues. I'll post when I know.

Yea, i know the dual mass flywheel is often swapped out. Just what im saying is if you look at the dimensions of the 968 specific flywheel they are far different than 8v flywheel and even the 16v flywheels from the S2 or S. This is why if you put a 968 engine into a regular n/a 8v 944 you have to use the S2 flywheel with the original bellhousing.

When I did the research on mine, a swap also included changing the DME over to the 968 Motronic b/c of the flywheel trigger. It was going to be a $3K or so swap just to make a clutch job easier, so I bowed out. Had I known I was going to go with a stand alone at the time...
