Default Solid trans mount impressions and question

I just installed a lindsey solid trans mount and it turned out not to be even close to how noisy i thought it was going to be. It makes the most noise in 1st and reverse, all the other gears i get just a little whine from but not bad at all. I would recommend it to anyone concidering one. Now for the question, is it ok to use this mount with factory engine mounts or should i plan on replacing them with solid/semi solid mounts soon?

Tracking... I have not run mine yet but the solid lindsey mount and new trans are installed. I still have stock motor mounts as well.

Why did you use this instead of the stock mount? Not being funny but were you having issues with anything in particular that made you swap to this? I am going to use a semi solid one. I have found that sometimes on the track when shifting say from 5th into 4th, my tranny or the selectors gets a little vague and even want to go into Reverse. Not what you want as you can imagine. Just wondering what you've found and if you've noticed an improvement with the new mount.
I'm also doing the semi-solid motor mounts.

The problem i was having was the shifter moving around alot on hard acceleration and from underneith the trans moved side to side very easily. A new factory mount probably would have fixed this but even those are soft and probably wont last. This should also dramaticaly increase axle life being the weight of the trans isnt being pushed into them. A company called GPR sells the semi solid engine mounts i'm looking into.

GPR makes a transmission mount too.

Does anyone have any experience with the motor mount?

I have been running the solid LR mount on my N/A for a year now, and I am overcome with joy over it... pluss it is cheaper than a new OEM floppy mount...

the last year has been solid trans mount, with new OEM motor mounts, and I have NO issues with them together, actualy I have read on here that when running solid trans it is preferable to have the OEM or close to OEM engine mounts for street use, as a totaly solid mounting of the drivetrain COULD cause chasis issues... Who knows, I do know I LOVE my solid mount, and am considering one for my 951 if I come accross the need to drop the transmission (I don't need to do this at the present, as I recieved the car with a brand new OEM trans mount installed... might have been the only new part, but it is new....)

I am running both of these semi-solid mounts on a street car and have nothing but positive things to say. The engine mounts let you lower the engine by 1/2in to 1in. I kept one of the rubber spacers in the engine mounts for a 1/2in drop (it came with two spacers per side), or you can go full solid with a 1in drop for track cars. There is some drilling involved in installing the trans mount, but I did not notice any additional noise from the stock mount.

Very interested to see this - you always come up with good stuff.

Well then give us 3 -4 weeks, maybe less. It looks like our solid trans mount only a lower profile to accomodate 4 isolators for factory level support.
