Default Shop/Repair Manuals, which do you use?

Just got the car so I'll be spending a lot of time under the hood getting her fixed up, what shop/repair manuals are the best and where can I find them?

Factory manuals. Sunset porsche has a great price on the full volume set (IIRC something like 150 for the set), or you can find them used on ebay, or as PDF files online if you google the right terms.

The hardcopies are so much nicer than the PDF's though, and will pay for themselves the first time you use them.

another possibility is Alldatadiy-same info as is in Alldata but sold as an annual subscription to one model at a time for about $15.00 the info is basically taken from the factory manuals.

Just like everyone else has said. FSM...clarkes...rennlist.

I bought a set of N/A manuals for $163 bucks off ebay. Very nice shape. They sure beat trying to search through a PDF and hassels of a computer. They helped tremendously in the cam R&R on my S2 and other things as well that are odd. Next objective is to put a new mirror on.

I bought all the manuals, NA and turbo it was like 6 or 7 volumes from Sunset Porsche for $125. I never liked searching through a pdf file during a project.

or.....use the pdf, print up the pages you need for a given project. Its easier than trying to keep the manual clean, and you can write rpoject notes on the pages.

Pet is a dog [read, its a VERY old-school windows app [non-MFC] that takes over when running]. The complete Porsche parts catalog is downloadable as a large pdf. Its fully up to date every year.
