Default Fuel Line Insulation

I am getting ready to replace my fuel lines with a rennbay kit, which uses "High temperature AeroQuip hose". Is it recommended/necessary to use insulation sleeves over that type of hose for a 50/50 street/track car?

I searched and found only 1 thread with info about fuel line insulation (that doesn't seem right). This stuff looks good to me: http://www.autobarn.net/thhowiprbyth.html. If you know of other options, please let me know.

Thanks!

Thermotec is what I use, I know some people use the orange fire resistant stuff as well.

What orange stuff? The shiny spacecraft insulation (MLI) stuff? If so, where did you get it?

I used insulation on my SS lines, but not the Rennbays. The Rennbays have great fire resistance as it is and should not transfer heat like the steel lines might. To me that is like putting a fire sleeve over a fire sleeve. Just my 2 cents.

For the record I have stainless lines, not rennbay's...and they get hot which is why I have the thermotec on them like Ben stated.

i've got insulation on mine... i can't remember if the PO ordered it from one of the stated companies or if it was just some leftover blast furnace material (which works quite well to seal those loose lindsey exhausts with! )

Bruce,

Did you make those lines yourself? If so, where can you find the materials and do you have a writeup?

No real wirte-up but some info here, part nos/supplier at the bottom of the page... I think the thermotec and fuel line was from Summit, fittings from Parker. Other stuff rom McMaster-Carr. Mostly its just info gathered from others here and Pelican. Bruce
