I know. Just got her home, havent started tweaking out on all the little stuff yet. Should see the body shop, and paint in the next couple months. Like I said not 100% yet, but well on its way. I know you guys wanted to see pics tho, its been forever, it seems like to me. Shouldnt be much longer until I can leave her alone, and just drive for a while. Id say by summer I can say there is nothing more I could think of to do to this car, that I would want to do.

Nice one! +1 on the extra capacity. It's so much beefier down low. I remember running one motor in with only 9psi and 5000rpm limit. (280whp) and it's got enough low down grunt that it was actually still pretty quick.
Won't be long now until you've done the miles and can start to wind her up. Then you'll have a whole lotta fun!

Way beefy down low. Ive wrappped it out to about 5500 a couple times, I think for the next 1000, Ill keep it under 4k. As far as the down low power.......yeah, night, and day. Worth every penny! The more I talk about it, the more I want to go on a desert ride tonight.

How many miles have you put on it now? You get quite a few different viewpoints on break in procedure. What oil are you running and what do you plan to run or has your builder suggested?

Its about 150 or so miles right now. Ive always run 20w50 out here. Mostly cause the shop Im dealing with has worked on every p-car ive had, and have recommended 20w50 since the begining. With the heat, and turbo in the desert makes sense.

+1 on that oil weight! Just go for long night drives and you'll log up those break in miles in no time. I did something like 1000 miles in less than 2 weeks. Lots of drive through meals!

Yeah put a few on tonight. Shes running a little rich. Mech might want me to bring it in tomorrow for a little more tuning. Its lean I should be worrying about most right?

I think so. I was going for the less boost, more hp/tq so...... More displacement seemed logical.

I'm curious, how much did it cost you to go from 2.5 to 3.0? ballpark.

11ish labor, and parts. I brought some of my own parts, that I got smokin deals on tho. Thats for the engine, removal, and install. Id say with more resources it could definitely be done under 10k. Really depends on what your parts collection already looks like, what you have access to, etc. If the rumors of a garrity 3.4 crank are true my next goal will be a 3.7 968 ts replica. Well not 100% replica, minus bolt on goodies, management, etc. With that much displacement, Ill just keep my k26 from my 87' 951. Wont need much boost to be where I want. Longer gears for the 6 speed, and a 2.7 head, and ill have all the parts I need. Only good thing so far about my car getting hit. Mmmm I like lemonade.

edit: will need pistons, rods, and the rumored crank actually.
