Well, I am actually looking to buy the car now in early July this year. I need to sell my Porsche 951 first, then I only have one other thing I have to do then I will be looking at buying one. It seems like there are some used ones for sale but you need to look around. I drove one about 3 weeks ago and I am HOOKED on it now.

I just saw a S5 up close. I must say, I would not classify it as a nice looking car. I understand they are good cars though.

Are you serious?? I have NO idea why you would say... Looking at pictures makes it look good but when you see one in person they are really good looking. Well, looks is a personal taste anyways, I just wonder why you say that.

Mike, It's a personal taste. In the picture the S5 looked good, up close well it didn't cut it. The new generation M3, is in the same boat appearance wise.
Still, if you like the look, they are good cars.

Perfect example. First you look at the picture you go straight to the rear diffuser, the exhaust.. Something that gives it character. The car just "look" a bit too big for a coupe. More like a 4 door converted to a coupe.
I guess the non altered factory body looks a bit boring to me. Post a picture of the new generation 3 series BMW and it's the same thing. (Dare I say a Honda coupe??)
Yes, Chris you are correct. I'm over 30, too old I guess LOL. Now look at a 930, now that has character.
Just my opinion...

Currently BMW, Audi and Porsche seem to think that stability control and power can overcome weight....

Dispite all the negative looks comments, I pick mine up this weekend. I'll let you know how it is. I don't think this car is really a "sports car" rather a touring car that you can drive in the snow.. If you want a light Audi that is fast, I'd look at the R8 with the v10.
I would have to say, if your stuck on 80's styling, your not going to like many of the newer cars. They all look similar and don't have the curves or the boxy look of the 80's but at some point, you have to move on..

Now... is it beer-o'clock yet? Maybe whiskey-thirty??
