Pulling off my A/C Compressor.....
..... any tips on how to drain the coolant gasses safely???

Costs me 15$ to have it sucked out at my local shop. That's the way to go IMO

Safely.....or according to the law?
Bleed pressure from the fill valve .......take it to a shop that has a recovery machine.

I see a Schraeder Valve on the side of the compressor, is this an appropriate place??

Yeah the only home removal process I'm finding involves reversing the flow on propane tanks and dry ice buckets etc.. So I'll have to tow it to a shop and have it done right..
