Working on the car last night and decided to measure the front sway bar size as one of the bushings is swelled due to an oil leak and needs to be replaced. I was under the impression that it should have been 22.5mm but mine measured 24mm. I looked on Clark's and sounds like it may have the M030 option. Rear bar is 18mm, front springs have 2 yellow dots on them. Front struts are Sachs and rear shocks are KYB (replaced by PO). No idea on torsion bar size. Is there an option code that should be with the car if it had the M030 option? How else would I be able to tell? Car is an '86. I tried the search function, couldn't find much info.

Thanks Johnathon. I was able to locate all my codes and what they mean except the following: C83 and E05. Any idea where I could find out that info? There was no mention of the M030 code so perhaps someone swaped the 22.5 for a 24mm bar.

I think this it the way they came from the factory, numbers are rounded.
944 N/A: 22mm
944 Turbo (non m030): 24mm
944 Turbo (m030): 27mm
968 (non m030): 27mm
968 (m030): 30mm
944 N/A: 22mm
944 Turbo (non m030): 24mm
944 Turbo (m030): 27mm
968 (non m030): 27mm
968 (m030): 30mm

Nope, I just ignored those alpha codes myself because I couldn't find any references for them and all of the main performance options are three-digit codes anyway.

It's not unusual at all for people to get M030 sway bars and other M030 components and bolt them up to non-M030 cars. I have done that with my sway bars because it was such an easy way to help reduce roll on the track.
