^+1 I did the "Kelly Procedure" last year and it is much better IMHO than the Lindsey solid mount that I have. Almost no movement and fairly quiet (after I put new bearings in the torque tube). Highly recommended.

Yes, street car only, still too soft for track use.

I have used this part on my street car and it works very well. I checked before & after fitting and I get much less movement with very liitle change in noise levels. My old mounts were really shot though, so I haven't compared them to new factory mounts.

I think they would still be too soft for a dedicated track car and where noise levels are not important, but for a street car I have found nothing better. I have tried a solid mount and a modified factory mount in the past, but I found the noise levels too much for road use on both of these options. It's frightening how noisy these transmissions are!
Despite the price, I've just bought the Pelican one so I'll see how that works out. I have been sensing more movement of my gear lever of late so I think perhaps my mount is pretty old now. I'm also going with the LR 'Semi-Solid' engine mounts. My car is still street although more towards a track car but you still need some civility.

I cant remember what its like to drive w/ a stock trans mount, I was more concern with going fast. !! But after a while the solid trans mount eats at you especially in traffic. It annoys you a little bit by bit.

my solid mounts made my locktited bolts holding the entire transverse undo them self on spa-francorchamps, just a headsup, but its a HUGE diference to drive, you feel it doesnt move around like it used to. so its a good mod, hybrid is a good idea indeed.

I would but I don't have any stock axles I traded them as cores for my motorsport axles.

Yes I do though the car is built for road race I still like to take it to the drag strip. I was not far a high eleven sec. pass a couple years ago and would like to run a 11.7-11.9 this summer.

The axles are GKN motorsport ends with heat sink fins on the CVs the shaft is a rifle drilled motorsport piece. I think I paid around 1000$ for the set but his was cost from the supplier I got them from. You can have him make you a set as well I got them from Raxles.com. they probaly retail for around 1600$. They are stronger and weigh about half as much.

^Thanks for that. I am feeling sort of at the crossroads about doing something like this. I am concerned that it would move the load into the tranny and having the CVs / axles as a fuse may still be the cheapest way to have the setup. I don't do hard 1/4 mile launches so perhaps it will be ok.

+1 on the APkhaos solution. Cheap and very effective. Very little movement. Enough resilience to keep noise down and avoid stressing the case.

I am assuming I don't have to worry so much about snapping the mounts on the transmission in my not-so-torquey NA motor?

I was planning on solid trans mount and reusing the newish rubber factory motor mounts I have currently. I can get some solid ones if necessary but... I can't see my stockish NA motor breaking things with it's massive power output.

REALLY, REALLY wish I had seen these earlier threads this past summer when I had the tranny out. I couldn't believe how much it moves around with my stock mount - I thought something was wrong at first (like I was missing some parts or something). The urethene trick is definitely on my list of things to do now.

Just curious, was there any particular reason why you went with the 8644k11 instead of the 8644k18, which only costs $3 more but is rated at 94A shore hardness? (1725 psi tensile strength vs. 3120 psi tensile strength) I'm thinking I may try the stronger k18...

The Shore 80 material is right on the edge of a rigid result with the amount of material used. There's just a little give, but not much, and its stood the test of time. Going harder runs the risk of the material actually cracking. Going to almost 2x the hardness I know works is risky, and I don't think you'd see any appreciable benefit.

Ah, thanks for the info. BTW, what kind of wheels do you have on your car?

They are BBS mag center 17s. Great wheels, and replacement centers and rim halves are still around if you search a bit. Race spec 17s are going the way of the dodo.

I just received mine Really nice peice ! Can't wait to install it.

One thing I didn't know though, you need to drill some holes to install it.

Here's a few pics of the instructions that came with it.
