Alright - project just got delayed during one of the final days and I'm about to receive my final parts otherwise. Anybody have a spare, unbroken temp sensor of any age? I called Napa, and they are not only more than I want to pay, they will take 3 days to get one here, and I might as well explore my options at that point.
