Default Yet Again - Wheel fitment Q on 1986 951

Can late-offset (52 mm) 16" phone dials be mounted on the back in a 1986 951 without spacers?

And they don't look like they're sitting pretty far into the wheel well?

See the pic in the previous post. What do you think? They look a little in to me.

Maybe your axles and hubs were replaced with late model parts?

But the front are early-offset hubs and spindles. Why would the PO switch the back to late-offset and not the fronts?

IMHO the front and the rear both look a little in to me. But it's also been a while since I've been around my 86 951 with phonies on it. Second opinion anyone?

The fronts have 10 mm spacers and definitely look "in" with the late-offset phonies.

They both look OK...the fronts in maybe a tad, but both OK.

If these are late offset then something in the rear has been done.

Math is Math...there is no getting around it. IIRC 28mm (1") is how far they would set back if they were late and the axle assemblies are early.

On second look...lots of shiny new suspension parts back there....

Yeah that doesn't make sense. It must be a late offset rear.

Pic is 5 years old...I had just changed the rear shocks with coil overs from KLA Industries. I don't think they carry them anymore.

Here are two pics of the back without the wheels. Can someone tell from these that the axles are late-offset?
