Default Crossover to WG inlet pipe not sealing...new donut

I've searched a bunch on this but seems like most Tial wastegate posts are for people having difficulty removing the old/installing the new. My issue is I'm putting in a Tial 38 which I have bolted up to my shorty input pipe and dump pipe. I'm not having any clearance issues w/ getting it installed into the car but when torquing the nuts/bolts of the three bolt flanges together on the crossover to inlet pipe and I can't seem to get the a firm bite on the pipe. I have the 3 bolts torqued to ~20ft/lbs (can still fit a finger nail between the two flanges) and I can still rotate/wiggle the pipe. Has anyone else run into this issue? Things to note: I am using a new donut seal, both flanges are bevelled sides facing in (towards the donut), the shorty pipe does have a slight depression where the previous was.

I know just about everyone has installed an aftermarket WG so I'm hoping I'll get a definative answer quickly.

When I put those two triangle flanges together I tighten them till they touch then give them a little turn afterwards. Whats the p/n on the donut maybe they you had the wrong one?

FWIW, just messed with these and yes, I really had to crank on the 3 nuts/bolts before things would bite. This was with a new dount too.

I don't have the original package but my receipt from Lindsey has it as p/n 930.123.134.04 which jives w/ PET... 20ft/lbs is getting towards the limit for those bolts (M6s I think).

Has anyone seen different versions of the flanges?

I have the same problem, mine doesn't make any noise but leaves soot, so I know its leaking a little; an easy fail for a safety inspector (who is irritated that he doesn't get smog inspection money for these old cars). Maybe a big c-clamp to get some pressure and then snug up the bolts, release the clamp. Also a hardened version of those little bolts is gettable. Last ditch, weld-on a sleeve to fill the donut hole a little... Bruce

ALL SEALING PROBLEMS WILL GO AWAY, AS THE FLANGES WILL BE SHAPED AROUND IT .
