Mind if I ask; is that an old T6 with trycycle gear and a three blade prop? If so,never seen one like that either. VERY nice car.

Actually yes its a 1957 NAVY trainer 1400 HP rotary, it leaks almost as much oil while its sitting as those rear engined Porsche's do ha ha! It puts gallons of white smoke in the air on start up just the way the good 'ol USA intended!

interesting. They were originally tail draggers and had two blade props. That bird must be a good bit faster that an average T6. I'm guessing it gets used as a racer.

There were several different configurations of these 50's NAVY trainers, as far as engine, wingspan, landing gear. Each was used for its own special purpose but all were pretty much used as trainers with duplicate controls F & R

No racer just a fun classic restored piece of history that is just way to much fun to buzz around in. Hefty on the wallet as far as fuel goes though.

Congrats Shawn, you deserve it for the work you've done on that beast. I can't believe I just saw this thread. I'll have to look for a copy this weekend.

Great article. I see you are running 105mm Arias pistons. Looking for a back up set?
